Unknown to me, August 14, 2003 would be a day when the modern world burped on the Western seaborad of the USA and Ontario. There was a widespread electrical failure that our Premier termed "a catastrophe." That was the day I had chosen to begin a short solitary visit by kayak to some islands in Georgian Bay, about 250 kilometers North of Toronto. This is the story of my trip in the wilds while my city was in the darkness of the catastrophe.
Um, actually, it wasn't a catastrophe, and this is not a story about a catastrophe either, just a bunch of pretty pictures.
